Walter Fischer founds rational in Melle, near Osnabrück, Germany. Well-known for his company helicopter, he quickly develops the company and, just four years later, opens a second production facility in Waldmünchen, Bavaria, Germany.

rational takes over Austria's best-known kitchen brand "regina". From now on, rational kitchens are marketed and sold in Austria under the regina brand.
